The environment in which I live, concrete, glass, metal, fire, water, bamboo, birds, dogs, and light, inspires my work.
I create bold, colorful, and expressive images and in their restructuring strive to show something of the unconscious and preverbal mind. Through my explorations with light and form, I aspire to communicate ideas and emotions and the influence of my environment.
Utilizing both digital and traditional techniques, I capture the organic textures and abstract forms around me and recreate these images into unexpected unions of shape and color. These large, colorful composites are printed on canvas and then painted with acrylics and sculpted with collage elements to add tactility and luminescence, all with the intention of bringing forth some of that beneath the surface, something that has a life of its own, new, unique, and surprising.
