| Home | Using a synthesis of digital and traditional art techniques, mixed media and multimedia artist Suzun Hughes produces work with depth and sensation while investigating fundamental structure and luminosity. Her art attracts the audience with an uncommon arrangement of elements while her tactile, organic imagery and her unique layering of color, form, and movement creates a unified texture and clarity.

In 2000, Suzun pursued her lifelong interest in art and photography and started her creative journey by using the computer as an artistic tool. Before becoming a working artist, She received her B.A. from Villanova University and worked for a number of years as an urban planner and realtor. Suzun graduated from San Francisco State University's Multimedia Studies Program in the Fall of 2003 with a Certificate in Digital Design and Production and an emphasis in Digital Video. During this time, she also graduated from the Bay Area Video Coalition's Media Link Program a three month web intensive. In 2006, Suzun studied painting and printmaking at the San Francisco Art Institute. She balanced her studies with several internships: TV production at CNET, web streaming at Red Zep, and video production and post at eMotion studios, as well as volunteering at San Francisco's Public Access TV Station, the media Arts Cluster at CELLspace, and the San Francisco Cutters - a final Cut Pro editors user group. In 2007, Suzun moved to historic Downtown Roanoke, Virginia and renovated a commercial building into a residence, studios and a gallery.
